Vollzeitstudium
Interesting courses, good informatics departement
Good choice of informatics courses available, not that much in bio but still interesting subjects. Campus is convenient and well equiped. Many international students and always someone to help you available. The informatics library is especially recommendable.
Aimed at academic development
The degree provides with general knowledge for industry applications. However its main focus is towards academic research, where theoretical bases are more important than application.
The professors have a vast knowledge in their respective research area without any doubt, but their capabilities to teach students still need to improve.
Very positive experience
Bioinformatics faculty at UdS is excellent at teaching, and highly accomplished in research. The course is tough academically, but a great learning experience. I am halfway through the program and I have already become a better student. Proximity to the Max Planck Institute, and access to their courses and lecturers, is an added bonus. As is the presence of HIPS.
