A Practical and Future-Oriented Learning Experience
I have had a very good experience with the Web Engineering degree program so far. I have recently completed my third semester, and overall the course has been well-structured, practical, and highly relevant to the current IT industry.
Many of the subjects are very interesting and directly connected to real-world applications. One of the most engaging experiences for me was the “Planspiel Web Engineering” course in my third semester....Erfahrungsbericht weiterlesen
However, there is still room for improvement. The university could enhance its digital infrastructure by providing access to LLM models and more advanced Artificial Intelligence tools. Since AI is becoming an important part of modern web development, having hands-on access to such technologies would further improve learning and better prepare students for industry demands.
My Experience
My experience with the Web Engineering program has been both practical and inspiring. In the early stages, I focused on core web technologies which helped me understand how real-world applications are built. As the program evolved, the introduction of Generative AI–related subjects completely changed my perspective. I learned how AI models can generate content, assist in coding, and enhance user experiences in modern web applications. Working on small projects that...Erfahrungsbericht weiterlesen
Great balance of theory and practical learning
Studying Web Engineering at TU Chemnitz has been a very enriching experience so far. The program offers a solid mix of theoretical foundations and hands-on projects, which has helped me strengthen both my technical skills and problem-solving abilities. In the first two semesters, the modules focus on data structures, algorithms, cloud applications, and software design, which give a strong base for understanding modern web technologies. Later on, the advanced topics...Erfahrungsbericht weiterlesen
During exams or project evaluations, some modules even support digital/online formats, which is very convenient. Wi-Fi across campus is reliable, and students get access to software licenses and cloud services that are helpful for technical courses like Web Engineering. There is still some room for improvement in terms of streamlining certain administrative processes, but overall, I would say the digital infrastructure is modern and student-friendly.
