I started studying this program from the first batch in 2016 and so new is it now not anymore. To compensate the lack of structure and very bad organization and communication within this program the staff thought they create 4 research group with people still working on their PhD or professors only interested in maintaining their position at the Research institute while supposedly “giving class” for this program. And I don’t mean this is because of COVID. It is mainly because people working for this program have simply no interest for the students and their progress. They rather work in their own research career and keep this teaching thing for Early Childhood research as a side job to gain some money while still working on their PhD or if the research institute quits funding their research. This is it how it appeared to me right from the beginning. So there was no structure or any organization in the beginning and now there is 4 research groups with are led by 4 professors or research Doctors basically recruiting research students for their ongoing projects at the institute. Besides that it is such a pain in the ass to get any information about the Programm itself and exams or when to do what or what is coming next. So do not expect there will be any person advising you where it by whom you can get your thesis examined. Even though you put all the work in to overcome this awful excruciating study time with way to much workload every semester to basically not learning anything from it. Or learning how to use statistics programs by people that learned how to use it for themselves but are just so incompetent by teaching students anything about it. And finding a spot for a internship on your own for half a semester while you are actually supposed to attend classes their and gain your credits and this as already mentioned way too much workload. And then find a research projects for your thesis that maybe on your interest by yourself and than nobody is willing to give you credit for it or maybe just read your thesis and give you a grade. I can only tell if you are not interested in a nightmare of incompetencies and a lot of very bad communication than don’t give this a try. I can admit I try to finish this right now with my thesis and it is very ungrateful. For the last a story from experience of this program: It took them a year and 2 months to give me a grade for a statistics portfolio that I handed in on time but they first claimed was plagiarized and in the end it was not at all. Don’t study this if you are not aware what kind of mess this is going to be. Good luck!
