Toller Studiengang
I have to say, that my experience with my IBS studies at HS Anhalt has changed my life for the better. I remember my first contact with the university and especially Ms. Mouton (Academic Advisor for International Business). She called me personally, on a Sunday, from Canada (where she was working on closing on another partnership for our exchange program), and we had my interview. That was 3 years ago, and now that my studies are close to an end, we had another call when we talked about my experience in our partner university in Tallinn.
This is the care and effort the people at HS Anhalt give their students. And of course, there are many things that are not right, Bernburg is a small city, the university is a bit far from the city center, public transport is almost non-existent, organization is a bit all over the place sometimes and W-Lan may not always work perfectly. But those are little imperfections, because at the end of the day it is not supposed to be perfect, but it is good enough.
Professors: I am happy to say that the professors at HS Anhalt (Campus Bernburg) are some of the greatest professors out there. They really care about their students and what I have learned there are concepts that I am using in my career.
City: Bernburg is a small city and the campus (Strenzfeld) is about 5-7 km away from it. This would be okay if the public transport (bus) would be more frequent, but it is something to keep in mind. Also, a bike works great, but bikes are fun only in the summer.
Courses: When I started, we had a fixed course program. They improved the program now though and it’s way better, because you can choose your own courses each semester and build your own program. I know this because I changed from the old “system” to the new one and the new one is way better.
Other Students: You will meet some really nice people at Strenzfeld.
Auslandsjahr (Year Abroad): This is the best thing about International Business degree course at HS Anhalt. The last 2 Semesters of your studies, you will spend in a partner university (as part of the Erasmus+ program). This is mandatory, btw. There are so many great partner universities out there.
My pick for my year abroad was TalTech in Tallinn, Estonia. I finished my second semester this month and I got to say, it was a great experience.
All in all, I am happy that I choose International Business at HS Anhalt.
