The career center at WHU is probably the best in entire Europe, honestly. It might not necessarily be the "career center office" but more of the branding that WHU established with employers. Either way, the share of students landing outstanding internships even before the end of their bachelors is quite remarkable. I think because WHU is so small and selective in their people (not in terms of getting the most intelligent people but getting the people who best fit to the culture at WHU which is similar to the culture at banks / consulting firms), employers' tend to like hiring from WHU. We had two company presentations per week with really attractive firms who'd invite us for dinner and drinks, so you really have the chance to get to know the "business world". I started my bachelors with no clue what business really means (neither family nor friends had anything to do with business) so after only a year or so, the most important things I had learned where not about accounting or marketing but really about what shapes "business" out there). Also, the startup network at WHU is very strong as many alumni go to Berlin to found their own firm. Back in 2015 I thought I would be a startup guy myself (turned out I'm not) so that was another reason.
Further, WHU is a good choice for students who need their fair share of guidance. Especially for young high school graduates who don't have a clear career path in their minds yet, WHU can be a great environment to identify their goals. At a big state university, many students presumably get easily carried away, enjoying their freedom more than focusing on their studies. At WHU, although people like to party, academic performance is still a big topic that everyone speaks about. Thus, your very fellow students don't let you forget about your priorities. WHU, since they attract people who are quite similar (yes, little diversity certainly has downsides, too), give students a starting point from which it is easy to evolve.
