Navigating the Second Semester
Starting my second semester at FAU came with its own set of challenges. The first semester didn't end well because I spent most of my time looking for housing. FAU doesn't have student housing, which made things tough and affected my grades.
The courses in the second semester cover a lot of different topics, which is good. But when it came to picking courses, I felt a bit lost. I ended up choosing what I needed to take, not necessarily what I wanted to learn. I'm not sure if the problem is me not knowing what I'm interested in, or if the university could do more to help students decide.
Some of my courses this semester didn't have recorded lectures, which would have been helpful. One course relied solely on the original book, which they provided digitally for free. However, I wished they had created some extra materials like they do in other classes.
Getting information about courses and what they're like can be tricky. The online handbook is outdated, and sometimes the details about courses change. This made registering for classes a bit frustrating.
On a small note, the different university websites get the job done, but they could be easier to use. Also, we use several platforms for different things, like recorded content, materials, and emails. It would be nicer if everything was in one place, but it hasn't really affected my learning.

Wie gut ist deine Hochschule digital aufgestellt?
There are notable areas for improvement, particularly in providing comprehensive guidance for course selection and streamlining the online platforms for a more cohesive user experience.
