Great Balance between theory and practice

I came to HdWM after graduating from a public university and I am very happy to have made the switch. Lecturers from practice and two days a week of lectures in small groups have convinced me completely. Although the performance level was too low for me in the first semester, it increased significantly towards the end. If you feel underchallenged, you can also acquire additional certificates and participate in exchange programs and other events. A big plus also goes to the teachers who know exactly how to challenge and support students individually. Unlike the experience I have had at other institutions, here you get the opportunity to follow your interests and do things that motivate you personally. In general, knowledge is taught here at the pulse of time and not from old dusty books. Unfortunately, my studies took place in the middle of the pandemic period, which is why I can only report a little about the career service or exchange programs. However, an alternative was always offered and there were clearly no disadvantages. Every student had a office 365 package from the beginning which made the transition to virtual classrooms much easier. I was able to participate in a research project and even publish my work. Especially if you like scientific work and research, this is the right place for you. The cliché that universities of applied sciences are worse positioned in this respect does not apply to the HdWM at all. I also find it hard to understand the criticism of the library. All books related to the lectures are available and there are great arrangements with surrounding universities for literature research. The organization of the study program is uncomplicated and flexible. You can always find a contact person quickly and if not, even the head of the program personally takes care of the students' concerns. The English master's program is very internationally oriented and was exactly the right decision for me as a German student to bring my English to a very good level. I have made many international friends that I would not want to miss. I can highly recommend the HdwM for anyone who is tired of boring 300 people events and is willing to try something new and leave their comfort zone.
