I wouldn’t recommend it
I’m sorry, my german is good but my feelings don’t flow in german so I’m writing everything in English.
There are a lot of things missing in the Spanish program. First of all, we don’t have any courses about Lateinamerikanistik, so why even make it part of the program. Besides that, we barely get any Latin American history or information because almost all the courses have a focus in Spain and its story. As a future linguists I lack some knowledge because there’s no variety of courses or teachers and I’m still thinking that I won’t be able to decide who’s going to correct my bachelor thesis because there’s only one professor in the Spanish area at the moment. And my biggest complain: how can I improve my Spanish if all my classes are 100% in german (except for the classes you take if you don’t speak the language).
On the other side, English has more option and it’s more organized, but the program seems to be from 1910. We focus so much in the past, how things worked in the past and its history. Those programs, English and Spanish, are mainly preparing people to work as teachers and, for example, this program doesn’t have courses to improve writing or oral skills. Plus, the program is really boring. I even considered doing it in the first place because everyone told me it was super boring, but I didn’t want to believe it. Now I can confirm it.
The truth is I wouldn’t want my future kids to have a language class with a someone that studied with me and Spanish or English is not his/her mother language because that means that they didn’t get the appropriate education to train someone and they barely speak the language themselves, mainly the people from Spanish because in English at least you’re constantly training your skills thanks to the fact that all the classes are in English.

Wie reagiert deine Hochschule auf die Corona-Krise?
I wonder why we didn’t have the online option before. I get it, it can be annoying sometimes, but as a student that has to work and study at the same time, I think it’s an amazing and comfortable option. It’s everything organized and well done.
