I was a master student coming from Spain. I came to this Master's program based on the understanding from the website that English was the primary and only language. However, there have been numerous instances where German has been used, both in materials and by professors, excluding us socially and professionaly, since we were paying for an "All english program". When I requested adjustments to professors and the head of department, I was met with responses like "translate everything yourself," "you are in Austria so...," and "you need to interrupt me every time I speak in German". Furthermore, there have been instances where the challenges faced by international students were downplayed, with comments like "there are not that many slides with pictures in German," or "I don't consider this to be a big problem". This has contributed to a sense of being misunderstood and inadequately represented. Despite addressing these issues in meetings with the department head, the situation has not returned to being consistently in English as initially expected. Regrettably, this situation led to a loss of trust in the university, and after moving abroad, I had to quit and look for a job until I could get into another master. I have never been this let down in my life. So no, despite what you see in the beginning and other german speakers tell you, it is not an international hochschule and it is not an english program. If you are a fully fluent german speaker, they offer very good opportunities in the industry. However, you need to be aware of the 9-8 pm schedule in class and the irregularity of the schedule that everybody complains about (constantly changing, bad if you have a job with a strict schedule).
  • Comfortable chairs and good opportunities ONLY for german speakers
  • Poor schedule organization, constant schedule changes, job offers/internships restricted to german speakers, german spoken by professors and in slides, very exhausting schedule (9-8pm)
