Do not study here

I am not from Germany and came to study at the University of Regensburg having very high expectations. According to the website, there were many interesting subjects in the program taught by well-known professors. However, the program turned out to be an absolute mess. First of all, it was not approved by the time we started studying so I and other students spent the whole semester trying to figure out what the requirements for the program were and what subjects we had to take. The funniest thing was that the teachers and students' advisors were not aware of that themselves and could not properly help us. We also found out that many teachers were leaving for different reasons and we were not informed of that at the beginning. We ended up basically having one professor in our department who could supervise students writing master's thesis. That one professor, unfortunately, is not good at managing all these things and it influences the quality of teaching and the quality of the whole program, in general. Last semester, for example, he had a course in which he asked students to perform classes instead of him, and every student prepared one lecture instead of the professor (that task was not even graded, btw). As there are no professors, there are no interesting subjects either so get prepared to learn stuff about African Englishes, the only thing which interests that guy who is in charge. The grading system is also pretty poor. You can be asked to do multiple tasks (presentations, classes instead of a professor, etc.) but only your final paper will be graded. As communication works pretty bad in this program too, do not expect much help. You will be writing plenty of papers but your teacher is unlikely to support you. Especially that guy in charge, he is just a horrible supervisor. You can meet him every week to ask things about your project but after submitting a paper, you will know that you did everything wrong despite the fact you did all the things this professor asked you to do during his office hours. To sum up, the program is extremely annoying. I lost all my motivation and I really regret that I came to study at this university. Fortunately, I have something to compare with so yes, the program is awful. I cannot wait until I am done with it. Many students left and went to other universities, I wish I did the same.
