Amazing opportunity for a Double Master
I did a double master's degree in Information Systems with the University of Turku (Finland) and here are some highlights I would like to share:
- The program allowed me to select from a wide range of courses offered by both faculties the topics that I am most interested in.
- Passau offered well-organized courses on interesting and trending topics such as AI, data analysis, and digital platforms. Discussions during the lectures and exercises were also very much encouraged, which I really liked. However, the catalog could have included some more technical and programming courses.
- Interacting with many international students was another personal highlight for me. Passau is a small student town, making it relatively easy to make new friends.
- It also felt easy to connect with the professors and the PhD students thanks to many nice events organized by the 'Hochschulgruppe Winfo' (such as Beerpong tournaments or various gatherings).
- If you are aiming for an academic career, there is great support at the uni Passau. The professors actively encourage the students to apply for student research assistant positions at their respective chairs. I worked for nearly two years as a student research assistant, helping with various research projects. This experience further motivated me to pursue a PhD as well.
