Vorheriger Bericht
Das ist genau das, was ich machen will
Doesn´t stand out among the competition
As an international student I had higher expectations. The Pensum isn´t full time, but the strange thing is, it´s not specified in their website nor in the information given to new applicants . Most of the semesters only require the students to be 2 or 3 days a week on campus. And most of the professors spend 2 days a week, at most, at the university.
Getting through the courses is a breeze, but the academic level is kind of low. No matter what your project looks like at the end of the semester , you´ll pass.
The organization within the HFG is abysmal. Nobody knows whats going on. Even a week before my graduation, my online credit list was missing courses that I had taken 2 or 3 semesters ago.
And the professors never seem to work together, so there´s little to no synergy between courses. you either work mostly with one professor and get all of his/her support or you try different perspectives but you tend to be on your own.
And if you´re a international exchange student and are wondering of coming to the HFG, I would not encourage you. I would only recommend it if your German is very good. If you on the other hand expect to get by in English, I would warn you that not all professors speak English. And as an English speaker you are limited to applied design courses.
If you have a strong portfolio I would recommend applying to other more famous universities.

- Well equip workshops. Broad design philosophy.
- Not well organized. Aging staff with no real contemporary field experience. Staff has little to no international experience.
