Major topics in the study of Molecular Biotechnology:

As part of the program, you will have the opportunity to engage with advanced modules that delve into the intricacies of important biomolecules, including their structure, biochemistry, and biology. You will also develop knowledge needed to engineer these molecules, manipulate related cellular processes in both procaryotic and eucaryotic organisms, and oversee their large-scale production.

Methodological competence:

You'll have the opportunity to participate in these workshops as part of a small group in our state-of-the-art research laboratories, where you'll receive hands-on training using cutting-edge equipment. These workshops are carefully designed to fully immerse you in the world of research right from the start of your studies, allowing you to interact closely with researchers from our university and gain valuable experience in the field.

Voraussetzungen

To be eligible for the Molecular Biotechnology program at Philipps University of Marburg, applicants must have a C1 level

proficiency in English, as all teaching and exams are conducted in English. Detailed information on the C1 level requirements can be found on the university's webpage.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their Bachelor's degree grades, as well as the number of credit points earned from courses taken in biological sciences (a minimum of 30 CP) and supporting sciences such as physics and mathematics (a minimum of 12 CP). Additional subject-specific qualifications documented by successfully completing relevant advanced and/or final modules in bioscience and biotechnology, which will earn extra credits.

In addition to providing academic transcripts, applicants must also submit a CV and a letter demonstrating their subject-specific aptitude for the program. Applicants who meet the admission score level will be invited to participate in an interview, during which a committee will make the final admission decision.
