Competitive and hard - but worth it

To study well requires a lot of hard work, but when you do, you progress very fast. It is a very competitive Studiengang, and a lot of 1-Semester students have difficulties adjusting their expectations of themselves to the new reality.
At the same time, not many people drop out - partially, thanks to strong academic support from the tutor teams and the fact that students really help each other a lot (hashtag peer learning).
In most of the classes, we do homework in small groups, so teamwork is really a big part of the program. It teaches you to be more agile in working with others. Moreover, I cannot imagine it is possible to do most of the tasks alone.
It seems to me, that a person has to be ambitious and curious to have fun while studying at HPI.
