Knowledge beyond classrooms
A practically orientated program
The courses of the program are really well designed in order to prepare the students for the real world. The courses in the program are divided into two main categories.
First there are the theoretical ones. There we first learn about basic and later about more advanced methods of calculations, that are needed in the world of logistics. We also learn about concepts and features needed, when a logistics expert calculates the needed supply and production details.
The second type courses are more practical orientated. They are more project focused and they are more engaging for the students. A lot of them are simulation based, where the students get tasks, which resemble real logistics operations. Those courses give students a much better perspective on the real world.
The courses are structured well in enough, so that the workload is heavy, but not unreasonable. The program also includes enough seminars in order to prepare the students for life after University and help them get a job. The annual Career Fair also helps students find an Internship during their 5th Semester, which is crucial to Industrial Engineering students.
The professors in the IEM department are using modern learning aids by involving the students in the learning process. They also provide with all the needed learning materials in a timely matter.
The only negative of the program, is that there are not enough Industrial Engineering courses offered, which means, that every single student in the program, has to take a minor in another course.
