A lot of pressure

The teaching quality is not always good. Professors take for granted a lot of prior knowledge. This knowledge depends your background. In the exam, More importance is given to learn by heart rather than understanding the whys. Is really a formula that I can find in any book more important than understanding why and how a phenomenon happens like that. Microeconomics would be so nice without those confusing tutorials. I want to make people aware that a) We don't learn the subjects by doing those exercises. We just try to understand the mechanism behind it and that's it. And b) it makes our life so painful, since they collided with the theory we learned.
Some of the compulsory should be elective instead, depending on where someone wants to specializes into, like spatial data analysis with GIS, or microbiology. More space should be given to scientific subjects, like ecology, population genetics, climate and some basic knowledge about forestry, in particular forest protection and/or agroforestry. (Baden-Württemberg has the Schwarzwald, just saying!).
Even though, the uni's philosophy is the internationalisation several professors offer their courses only in German, cutting out internationals who are interested in those topics and want to specialize right there, and limiting the offer of modules overall.
So far my expectations were not fulfilled and I am not very happy with the studies here.

Der Studienverlauf ist bis auf wenige Ausnahmen sinnvoll geplant.
