Kurzbeschreibung
The English-language Master's programme in Interactive Media expected to start from winter semester 2025/26 and teaches you in-depth theories, principles, and expertise at the interface between media design, computer science, media science and media management (start-ups, leadership). You will learn how to develop these independently and apply them in practice to find creative solutions to complex problems. Our areas of teaching include interaction design for two- and three-dimensional spaces, human-computer interaction, generative design, game design and development, computation design, time-based media, artificial intelligence, computer graphics, sensor technology, data visualization, and natural language interaction.

Practice-oriented work
The course of study is characterized by a wide range of teaching methods: modern and classic study formats such as projects, group work, lectures, exercises, study trips to partner universities, conference trips and research projects complement each other. This makes the course particularly varied and application-oriented.
The master's programme is characterized by a consistent project and research orientation. The following topics are of particular relevance:
- Web and app development
- Virtual and augmented reality
- Game design
- 3D design
- Artificial intelligence and design
- Interfaces of the future with sensor technology and gestures
- Visual effects (VFX) and compositing
- Film production
- Motion capture.
In addition, we cooperate with different universities like the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf and other international universities, such as the University of Tallinn.
- Bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS which includes a specialisation in either media informatics, media design or media technology. Typically, but not exclusively, these are degree programmes such as media informatics, computer science with the study profile digital media, interaction design, interface design or comparable degree programmes. Degree programmes that contain computer science qualifications and media-related qualifications totalling 60 ECTS credits are recognised as comparable. Of these, at least 20 ECTS credits must be allocated to computer science qualifications and at least 20 ECTS credits to media-related qualifications.
- Proof of sound analytical, conceptual and technical media expertise in the form of a project portfolio of max. 10 pages.
