My Journey in Computer Science
Studying Computer Science has been a challenging but rewarding experience for me. When I started, I mainly thought Computer Science was about programming and learning different technologies. However, during my studies, I realized that it is much broader than that. It is more about understanding problems, thinking logically, and finding suitable solutions.
One of the most important things I have learned is how to approach a difficult problem step by step. There were many situations where I did not understand a concept or could not get my code to work initially. Instead of giving up, I learned to break the problem into smaller parts, research possible solutions, test different approaches, and learn from my mistakes. This has made me more patient and independent when working on technical problems.
I also enjoyed working on different projects and assignments because they allowed me to apply theoretical concepts in practice. Working in groups was another valuable part of my experience. It taught me how to communicate my ideas, divide responsibilities, manage deadlines, and work with people who sometimes have different approaches to the same problem.
My studies at Paderborn University have also introduced me to more advanced areas of Computer Science and encouraged me to explore topics beyond programming. Overall, studying Computer Science has improved not only my technical knowledge but also my problem-solving, teamwork, and analytical skills. Most importantly, it has made me more confident in learning new technologies and adapting to new challenges.

Wie gut ist deine Hochschule digital aufgestellt?
I would say Paderborn University is quite well positioned digitally. As a student, I use several digital platforms regularly for accessing course materials, registering for courses and exams, communicating with professors, and managing my studies. Many lectures provide slides, exercises, and additional resources online, which makes studying more flexible.
I also appreciate having access to digital library resources and university services from home. This is especially useful when working on assignments or projects.
Overall, I think the university already provides a strong digital environment, but bringing more services together and making the platforms easier to navigate could make the experience even better for students.
