Kurzbeschreibung
Students enrolling in the two-year Master programme may choose in addition to core lectures in Biophysics, specialisation courses from the vast offer of Life Sciences departments, such as in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine and Biology. Our programme offers a highly flexible choice of subjects and the course syllabus is intimately connected to the ongoing research within the Life Sciences at our university.
During the second year, students have the opportunity to carry out research at the academic level by completing two independent research projects, or they can choose to do an internship in an external institute to fullfill one of the research projects. The best students will have the possibility to work as lab assistant within the Biophysics Institute during their master.

Environmental Technology and Sustainability: developing environmentally friendly technologies and solutions, such as renewable energy development, analysis of environmental pollutants, or investigating biological processes for waste reduction
Research and Development: research institutes, universities, or in industry to develop new technologies, medicines, or medical devices, in areas such as drug discovery, biotechnology, nanotechnology, materials science, or food technology

Kleiner, sehr persönlicher Studiengang mit viel Praxis
Biophysics ist ein ziemlicher kleiner Studiengang. Durch den Kurs Wahlbereich kann man aber trotzdem seine eigenen Schwerpunkte setzten. Die Auswahl der Pflicht- und Wahlkurse ist allerdings ziemlich verwirrend gestaltet. Die Studienkoordinatoren und Lehrenden beantworten Fragen aber freundlich und sehr schnell und waren bei Problemen immer sehr entgegenkommend. Das Studium umfasst sehr viele Praktika, also es kommt viel Protokollschreiben auf einen zu. Zudem finden die meisten Prüfungen mündlich statt.
Dokumente können online gefunden und heruntergeladen werden - sind zum Teil aber etwas schwer zu finden.
Anmeldungen für Kurse sind über eine zentrale Plattform geregelt. Hier muss man sich auch für Prüfungen anmelden.
Perfect course to get into biophysics!
The course offers a perfect start for students coming from different backgrounds to study biophysics.
