Poorly organized and stressful
While i have come to make a lot of friends on the rub to make my time there easier, there are many problems that can’t really be ignored.
The set up of the biology undergrad is horrendous. You are required to take a single exam written by 10-15 professors on 6+ subject materials. these exams are notoriously hard and have an insanely low passing rate, even driving students in higher semesters to transfer or to stop studying biology completely. there are some good egg professors who make this grueling work worth it when you finally get to write your thesis, but getting in contact with them may be difficult, and getting into the courses they require you to complete before the thesis module is even more difficult.
i have however been given many opportunities through this program, and dont regret that i did it. it was however much more difficult than studying biology on a different university. By comparison however, the masters program is a breeze.
