Due to its cosmopolitan character, affordability, vibrant cultural scene, and reputation as a hub for creatives and start-ups, Berlin is one of the most popular cities in Europe to work, study, and live – especially if you are interested in being involved in an open and international community. Our modern and spacious campus is located in the heart of the university district in West Berlin. Easily reachable by public transport, it is also surrounded by canals and green spaces and is only a short walk from Berlin’s largest park, the Tiergarten.

As well as fulfilling their academic needs, our staff is also interested in preparing students for the interconnected world in which we live by promoting cross- cultural understanding through international academic co-operation and joint projects. Alongside developing a strong theoretical understanding of their field, we believe it is crucial for students to understand how this can be applied and utilized in the professional world. For this reason, we have a number ofprofessional partnerships with businesses and organizations that work with us to help students gain real-world experience.

Berlin International is committed to providing students with opportunities to study abroad in order to facilitate knowledge exchange and prepare students for careers in a globalized work environment. Our network of campuses in Europe, North America and Asia gives students the opportunity to spend part of their studies in cities such as Washington D.C. and Istanbul, as well as many others. In addition, we are proud to be a holder of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, and as of June 2018, we hold Erasmus agreements with 24 universities in Europe, a network which we are determined to continuously expand.

Designers play an integral role in the way we perceive both brands and commercial entities as well as civic institutions. This means that anyone working in design needs to be able to work with people from a range of different disciplines and cultural backgrounds, as we focus on. Because the program explores sustainable product design as well as the use of innovative materials and technological advances, students will be able to express themselves in the development of projects from ideation to implementation and possibly have various future perspectives such as in: furniture industry, mobility and transport industry, fair, exhibition and shop design, public design, electric tools and machines, digital products and components, design strategy, lifestyle, sports and leisure products or further study and research.

Our website provides full information on the application process as well as the degrees and qualifications required to study with us, divided into sections for German and international students. Students who do not meet the English requirements are offered to enrol in our one-year English preparatory program either in Berlin or at one of our BAU Global campuses.

Europe-wide exhibitions
As part of the Architecture faculty, we have the opportunity to participate in international exhibitions and competitions. Last year my class was part of two international exhibitions. One at the Aedes metropolitan forum, which features famous architects and provided us with a space to exhibit projects for the design of an extension to Aedes itself. The other exhibition was for the municiplaity of Verona to redesign an old fortification.
Digital learning
Over all, I would say the most exciting part of the course has been starting to learn how use 3D modelling programs. I’ve always had a keen interest in art and animation as well as architecture so this area has been the most appealing to me. Apart from this learning photoshop, cad and blender has also helped me with expressing my ideas.
Lots of hard work
I like having projects and working with my hands, so that is good. I'm also a workaholic, so the examination period has been nice because it kept me busy. However I wish the contents of courses were presented to us in a more interesting way, rather than just PowerPoint slides. The professors are, most of them, lovely people that you can actually chat to. There are also a lot of...Erfahrungsbericht weiterlesen
Encompassing
Even though the Architecture program is still new I feel as though the professors have given their best and still do, during the pandemic but also in presence. They deeply care about the students and make the learning environment enjoyable for everyone.
This program has taught me so much. The courses are tough and demanding but with organization and passion very enjoyable, there is a moderate amount of seminars, the...Erfahrungsbericht weiterlesen
