Writing my Thesis
I am currently in the final year of my studies and working on my thesis. As an international student, I initially found the experience quite isolating due to being away from my family and friends. However, conducting my research in a laboratory environment has provided me with a strong sense of community. Through regular lab discussions, weekly Monday meetings, and shared meals such as brunches and lunches, I have developed...Erfahrungsbericht weiterlesen
Course materials are consistently updated and easily accessible through the online portal, which is intuitive and efficient to navigate. Administrative processes, including course and exam registration, are straightforward and well-organized, reducing unnecessary stress. I have also found the IT support team to be responsive and helpful whenever technical assistance was needed.
Furthermore, the department actively communicates through its social media platforms, ensuring that students remain informed and engaged. Overall, the university’s digital environment has significantly enhanced my academic experience and contributed to a supportive and well-connected learning community.
Cool Genetic Lab Work
In my Agrobiotechnology studies, I gained hands-on experience in molecular biology and plant tissue culture. I worked with techniques such as PCR, DNA extraction, and micropropagation. I also participated in small research projects focused on plant stress tolerance, which taught me how to analyze experimental data and work independently in the lab.
Strong theoretical base but lacks practice
My experience with the required courses was good, although I would have liked more applied assignments instead of exams; in my opinion, that's how you learn best.
Additionally, I feel they could complement the study profile with subjects from other fields to avoid solely focusing on the technical aspect, but each student can try to do that with their electives.
New knowledge
I started to understand how the biology works and how we can control the nature for our benefit. You know how it feels when you can create a creature from 0 and give it abilities what is important by your side. It feels like you ate playing The Sims but with plants.
